Yoga is indisputably one of the world’s healthiest and most popular activities. It is deeply rooted in Indian culture and spirituality. We thought we’d expose you to our favourite component of yoga as beauty enthusiasts: the skin benefits! Here are five asanas to perform frequently for a healthy, revitalised complexion.
- Halasana (Plow Pose)
- Sarvangasana (Shoulder Stand Pose)
- Trikonasana (Triangle Pose)
- Bharadvajasana (Torso Stretch Pose)
- Bhujangasana (Cobra Pose)
Halasana (Plow Pose)
In this asana, your legs are pulled as near to the ground as possible, in a supine posture, over your head. Three repetitions of this asana performed twice day is good for achieving beautiful skin. This posture promotes digestion and boosts blood flow to the face, promoting healthy, bright skin.
Sarvangasana (Shoulder Stand Pose)
This asana entails elevating your legs and body while in a prone position and placing the weight on your shoulders. This stance improves the texture and quality of your skin by increasing blood flow to the face, therefore revitalising the blood cells. Additionally, it eliminates acne, wrinkles, fine lines, and dullness. This asana is somewhat difficult, but with sufficient practise and instruction, it may be mastered.
Trikonasana (Triangle Pose)
This triangle pose asana helps provide more oxygen to the skin by opening up the lungs, chest and heart. This, in turn, helps your skin feeling rejuvenated, revitalised and gives it a healthy glow. Doing this asana two times a day ensures optimal results within a few weeks!
Bharadvajasana (Torso Stretch Pose)
Gut health is vital for achieving nourished and healthy skin. Good digestion leads to the efficient elimination of AMA (undigested food) from the body, resulting in a perfect radiance. This sitting twist asana helps eliminate toxins from the organs, which is beneficial to the skin’s health. This spinal twist is good for improving digestion and building back strength.
Bhujangasana (Cobra Pose)
This asana, also known as the cobra stance, improves respiration by allowing the heart and lungs to fully expand. This stance also improves blood circulation, which helps eliminate free radicals from the body. This stance aids in preventing premature ageing, acne, and psoriasis, as well as boosting general skin and body health.
